Take a sheet of Woolworths' ready-made all-butter puff pastry and make five delicious dishes.
You can buy Woolies' all-butter puff pastry online - it's so much effort to make a good puff pastry yourself that this is the best way to go. And you do want the crispy, buttery layers.
5 GREAT FILLINGS:
- Drizzle chunks of butternut with maple syrup and olive oil and scatter over fresh sage. Bake for 20 minutes, or until tender and sticky.
Arrange torn mozzarella over the butternut, top with pastry and brush with beaten egg. Grill until puffed and golden.
- Fry bacon until crisp and gently sweat chopped leeks and garlic in a little butter until fragrant and softened. Add ½ cup cream and transfer to an oven dish.
Add shredded roast chicken and the bacon, top with pastry and brush with melted butter. Bake until crisp and browned.
- Fry lean mince with crushed garlic, toasted coriander seeds and star anise.
Transfer to individual oven dishes and add good-quality stock, sliced baby carrots, baby turnips, thyme and seasoning.

- Flash-fry thin strips of steak in a little olive oil, garlic, lemon zest and a few toasted cumin seeds.
Transfer to an oven dish, add ready-made gravy and top with pastry. Bake until golden.
- Roast chunks of brinjal and baby marrow with new potato halves, shallot quarters and whole garlic cloves until slightly tender and fragrant.
Add a ready-prepared Italian tomato sauce, top with chopped fresh parsley and bake with puff-pastry caps until bubbling and crisp.
