Succulent, tasty free range steak

If you think there’s nothing better than a thick, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth tender steak, you’ll love Woolies free range beef.

Like our free range chickens, lambs and the hens that lay our free range eggs, our  free range cattle roam freely, with access to plenty of fresh grazing and clean water.

They’re never given routine antibiotics or growth hormones or fed animal by-products.

Raised on selected farms in Namibia, the cattle graze on natural vegetation. In fact, our supplier adheres to stringent European Union standards and is independently audited. Now that’s what we call good food.

You’ll notice the difference even before you take a bite. Not only does the meat have a richer flavour than feedlot beef, but because free range cattle live longer than their conventionally farmed counterparts, the meat has an attractive dark-red colour.

For extra succulence, tenderness and flavour, our free range steaks are matured for a minimum of 35 days using specially selected cuts trimmed of all excess fat so they’re perfect for the braai or grill.
