Come experience a bit of the 1920's at Casa Labia
Come experience a bit of the 1920's at Casa Labia

Classic Italian design set in a relaxing environment and great tasting food is what you can expect at Casa Labia.

Those who’ve never ventured beyond the beautiful exterior of Muizenberg’s landmark 1929 Casa Labia are in for a treat.

The former home of Italy’s first diplomatic representative in South Africa has been immaculately restored and now boasts a contemporary art gallery and Africa Nova boutique to complement its art collection of English and Italian masterpieces.

Best of all – as you wander from ballroom to drawing room to dining room, decked out in chandeliers, furnishings, ceiling panels and wall fabrics imported from Italy in the 1920s – you’ll discover Judy Badenhorst’s new Casa Labia Café.

Come summer, you’ll find the opulent dining area extended into the beautiful garden, with its water fountain and unrivalled views of the False Bay shoreline.

Judy’s weekly menu strives to provide authentic breakfasts, lunches and coffees/teas that combine the Italian Labia heritage with the family’s love for South Africa.

Breakfast delights include a yoghurt panna cotta with seasonal fruit and home-made granola, and a prosciutto, Taleggio cheese and rocket croissant, while local ingredients make up a host of equally delicious lunch options.

Open 10 am to 4 pm, Tuesday to Saturday. 192 Main Road, Muizenberg, Cape Town; tel: (021) 788-6068
