Woolworths TASTE Magazine and Eat Out want to inspire, nurture and uplift young, promising culinary talent by giving one lucky applicant the opportunity to further his / her career with a bursary to a chefs' school.

The winner of the 2010 Woolworths TASTE Culinary Bursary Award will be announced at this year’s annual Eat Out Restaurant Awards gala dinner which will be held in November 2010 in Cape Town. The winner will be profiled in the 2011 Eat Out Restaurant Guide and on tastemag.co.za.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The Woolworths TASTE Culinary Bursary Awards are open to all candidates who are inspired to become a chef.

The ideal candidate would have a passion for food and cooking and show a keen interest in upping the standard of South Africa’s culinary industry.

The winner will be awarded a Woolworths TASTE bursary in partnership with Silwood Cookery School which will include:

• One year's study at Silwood Cookery School, sponsored by Woolworths TASTE Magazine
   
• A second year's study at Silwood School, sponsored by Silwood Cookery School

Terms & Conditions for the ideal candidate:

• Is under age of 35 years
• Has always dreamt of becoming a dedicated and committed chef, but didn’t have the resources to make it a reality.
• Has basic working experience i.e.; of working in a restaurant or eating establishment without formal training and wants to further his/her career.
• Is passionate, energetic and enthusiastic to learn all the ins and outs of the culinary industry.
• Must have some knowledge of the food industry and food.
• Be computer literate.
• Have good communication skills in English
• Be presentable
