Justin Bonello and Bill Granger have been traipsing around the country on a search for good food. These are the delicious meals they cooked up in Natal and Limpopo.
RECIPES BY JUSTIN BONELLO
Crème brûlée
Very simple, very impressive and it’s oh so smoooooth and just plain yummy!
Three bean and tomato soup with spinach and yoghurt
Meat lovers can add some smoked sausages. I use either Bockwurst, which is a German veal sausage, or Chourizo, a cured pork sausage from Portugal. Cut into bite-sized medallions and add along with the beans.
Home-made tomato sauce
My Ouma’s Trick: If the sauce is too acidic for you, add a pinch or two of sugar to mellow it out.
Snoek on the braai with stuffed butternut, potatoes and sweet potatos
The snoek is 'vlekked' as they do in the Cape. It's a vigorous form of gutting and butterflying a snoek that increases the surface area of the fish, and what you are left with are two butterflied halves.
