Labneh

Labneh, also known as laban, is a Lebanese soft fresh cheese made from yogurt. It can be used wherever cream cheese is called for.

Serve Labneh as they do in the Middle East:

Scoop the cheese into a low 'volcano' shape on a plate, forming a slight depression in the centre. Fill the depression with olive oil and sprinkle with fine spearmint. Arrange black olives around the edge, and enjoy with toasted pita bread slices, as the Arabs have done for millennia.
